From the Archive 📸

Welcome to From the Archive.

This is a collection of moments from different chapters of my life ~ early memories, old bands, milestones, and the stories that come with them.

Some of these go way back, others capture specific turning points along the way, but all of them are part of the journey behind the music.

Dive in and explore a few snapshots from the archive.

Childhood Photos

My mom recently sent me a bunch of photos from my childhood, so I thought I’d share a few with you! 🥰 Featured, of course, is my first cat, Carole (named after Carole King), as well as a shot of me & my sisters all wearing matching bathing suits that were made for us by my grandma Margot 😄

Most Embarrassing High School Band Photos EVER

This is “the band I was in” in high school. That’s in quotes because these photos were the extent of my involvement with the band.

I never actually played a gig with them (I don’t even remember if THEY ever played a gig!) 😜

All I know is that these photos were taken in a suburban frozen yogurt shop after hours, and I’m grateful *I* didn’t have to be the mother of that teenage girl…

yikes!!

🤘🤘🤘Rock n roll! 😂😂😂

2003 P!nk Bass Audition

so… back in 2003 I auditioned — and got CALLED BACK — as a BASS PLAYER for P!nk 😍 I didn’t get the gig, but was pretty psyched that as a guitarist playing bass with a pick, I was chosen for a callback! 😜 Here are a few private photos from the auditions… (I haven’t shared these with anyone before).

Oh — by the way — I “borrowed” this bass from Guitar Center for the audition (basically, I put it on my credit card, used it for a few days and then returned it). It’s a short-scale bass that was much easier for me (as a guitar player) to play than a regular sized bass guitar!

(cheating, maybe, but I was *also* playing with a pick… I mean, I am NOT a bass player, but I did pretty well considering that!!😛)

Playing Paul Gilbert’s Guitars

Way back in the 90s, I had a friend who was house-sitting for Paul Gilbert. Now that I look back on it, I guess he was trying to impress me by inviting me over. I don’t think he got what he was after (if it had anything to do with me!), but I did have a blast test-driving Paul’s guitars!

The Guitar I Most Regret Giving Up

When I was in high school, I bought a badass Fernandez Explorer that I could barely hold (it was SOOOOOO heavy!!). I never actually played a gig with it, but it LOOKED like it belonged on MTV 😉

After I moved to LA, I sold it for a more practical guitar (i.e., one I could actually HOLD), but I really wish I still had that thing… I wonder who has it now?? (I sold it to Guitar Center and I don’t know who ended up with it)

Ali's Birthday In Malibu

Here are some shots from my birthday celebration in Malibu. Many of these have not been shared with the public (other than ⭐️Backstage with Ali⭐️ members). Enjoy! 🎉
